Mr P N Rao, Vice President – Commercial, Soda Ash is responsible for all the commercial functions related to bulk raw materials as well as the developmental activities in raw materials at GHCL’s Soda Ash division. He joined GHCL in 1986 as a Junior Engineer. Mr. Rao holds the position of the President of Gujmin Industry Association, Ahmedabad, Vice Chairman of Mineral Committee – Federation of Indian Mineral Industries, New Delhi and is a member of the Mineral Committee at FICCI. He is also the Chairman for Mining Engineers Association of India, Ahmedabad Chapter and was the President of The Indian Salt Manufacturer’s Association, Mumbai from 2011-13.

He is a member of the Governing Body of International Centre of Excellence in Mining Safety & Automation, Ahmedabad, Research Council member of CSIR – CSMCRI, Bhavnagar and the Skill Council for Mining Sector, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, New Delhi.

Mr. P N Rao assists Industry Associations to overcome challenges and has served as an agent for change and continuous improvement and has helped to strengthen the contribution of mining & minerals towards sustainable development. Mr. Rao has over three decades of experience in mineral and chemical industries like iron ore, limestone, lignite and salt.
